PHASERO NOTICE – This patch is AWFUL. It’s ruined the current game – we’d suggest waiting for a rollback before trying it.

Updates

  • Implemented enhancements to anti-cheat (more still planned).

Gameplay

  • Weapon tracer effects have been updated.
  • Base health reduced from 1500 to 1200.
  • Starting armor increased from 100 to 200.
  • Armor from items reduced from 200/250/300/350 to 100/150/200/250.

Weapons

  • Weapon damage changed from 100/120/140/160% per rarity to 100/110/120/130% per rank.
  • The damage of common pool weapons has been increased across the board.

Sniper Rifle: Headshot damage reduced from 150% to 100%.

  • Venom Pistol and Auto rifle removed from the game temporarily.
  • Burst Rifle, Revolver and Heirloom Rifle are now hitscan weapons.

Assault Rifle: Added to the game as hitscan weapon

Burst Rifle:

  • Fire rate reduced from 0.8s to 0.7s.
  • Clip size increased from 18 to 30.
  • Reload time increased from 2s to 2.9s.
  • Accuracy values adjusted.
  • Added damage falloff.

Crossbow: Fire rate reduced from 0.55s to 0.4s.

Heirloom Rifle:

  • Fire rate reduced from 0.6s to 0.3s.
  • Accuracy values adjusted.
  • Damage falloff adjusted.

Revolver: Reload time increased from 1.9s to 2.4s.

Shotgun:

  • Fire rate reduced from 1.1s to 0.8s.
  • Damage falloff adjusted.

SMG: Added to the game.

Sword: Damage increased from 620/680/740/800 to 690/760/830/900.

Abilities

Barricade:

  • Duration reduced from 4/6/8/10 to 3/4/5/6.
  • Health reduced from 6250 to 3000.

Wall:

  • Health reduced from 6000 to 3000.
  • Cooldown reduced from 14/12/10/8 to 9/7/5/3.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where players could repeatedly hear chicken jump sounds.
  • Fixed a bug where crouched players appeared standing in relevancy.
  • Fixed a bug where pre-game lobby music was too loud.
  • Fixed a bug where remapping jump to numpad 0 caused the numpad 0 key to repeat its last action.
  • Fixed a bug where audio was playing while the game was minimized.
  • Fixed a bug where Long Bow could no longer headshot.
  • Fixed several glitches involving Potions.
  • Fixed a bug where players could occasionally not pick up items.
  • Fixed a bug where turrets were not taking damage from projectiles.
  • Fixed a bug where players could hear chest opening sounds when chests popped into relevancy.
  • Fixed a bug where SMG twitches to the right when shooting.
  • Fixed a bug where players could not reload while mounted.
  • Fixed a bug where players could hear audio when the window was not in focus.

Currently Investigating

  • Class Selection icons have duplicate icons for the Abilities.
  • Jumping from the Zeppelin will play the landing sound FX.
  • Issues with Mage abilities.

Our Thoughts

Whilst this patch does have a few good ideas – and it’s great to see HiRez continually changing things to try and get the best balances and gameplay; this patch is game breaking.

The Heirloom rifle is so hard hitting, accurate and fast firing that if you’re fighting a semi-skilled player (someone who can aim to anywhere on the body) – you’ll die.

Alongside that, the introduction of close range automatic weapons is crazy. No more is it a movement, ability & accuracy battle of skill. It’s who can hold left click and aim the longest. The damage, speed and lack of recoil/spread on the Assault Rifle & SMG is pretty disgusting. Whoever gets it first in early game will kill those around them 90% of the time.

We seriously hope that in the next patch HiRez rollback or massively adjusts these automatic weapons – as it’s caused a massive rage-quit reduction in the player base.
